Using a wide angle lens I got the camera up to basically touching this piece of driftwood for this shot. Doing this with a wide angle lens makes for a photo that draws the viewer in. The driftwood in this photo is the subject that captures the viewer's attention at the forefront of the photo, and guides their eye back deeper into the image.
